The Northwest church of Christ is an active congregation. We believe that Christ's desire is that all who are members of His body would be actively involved in the work of the church. Paul said "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). For that reason this congregation has a number of ministries to help get the church involved. All of these ministries are centered around the work that Christ has detailed for us in Scripture. You will find opportunities to learn, teach, encourage, be encouraged, and evangelize. Take a look at the list below to see what ministries are taking place and Northwest.
Ministries
-
Launch
One of the new young adult groups which is geared more towards the recently graduated or younger members of the congregation is titled Launch. This strong word is symbolic for that unique stage of life in which former youth are launching into adulthood, college, careers or families. More importantly, we see this group as launching into the solidification of their own faith, learning what their talents are and how to use them to serve the church and grow the Kingdom.
-
Pathfinders
The name Pathfinder is used in order to encourage this core group of young adults towards developing their leadership roles in the church, which includes honing their talents and taking on or creating events for them to lead, such as the monthly ladies Bible study. From within this group, we expect to find future elders, deacons, teachers, elder’s and deacon’s wives.

A.C.T.S groups
Jesus said "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you..." (Matthew 20:18-20). We believe that because Jesus gave this command we must obey it. The Active Christian Teaching System (A.C.T.S) is a ministry that helps equip all members of Northwest to be able to "make disciples". Many struggle to know how to teach someone, how to ask someone to study, and to encourage new Christians to remain faithful. All of these subjects and more are the focus of our A.C.T.S groups. This ministry is a great blessing to Northwest.
-
Jail ministry
The gospel has the power to change lives and it is needed by all. We truly believe that and in attempt to take the gospel to everyone Northwest has a jail ministry. Several members of Northwest go to the local jail every Sunday to teach those who are inmates. This work is a blessing to those who desire to turn their lives around and start living for God. Our prayer is that God will be glorified by this ministry and we believe He is.
-
Fort Sill ministry
One of the great works of Northwest is possible because we are right by the Fort Sill Army base. Every Sunday Mark, David Sexton (along with a team of volunteers) go out to Fort Sill and conduct worship service for those who are in training. This time they spend with the soldiers is of great importance. It gives an opportunity for members of the church to worship throughout their training and it is also serves as a great evangelistic opportunity. Many soldiers learn of God's word and many are baptized into Christ though this ministry. It truly is a blessing to those soldiers and also this congregation.

Ladies Bible Class
On Wednesdays the ladies of this congregation get together to study issues that face their lives. Multiple women teach these studies and it is of great benefit to all who attend. If you are a lady would like attend one of these studies you are invited to do so. They meet on Wednesdays from 10:00 - 11:00. They do not meet during Summer or around certain holidays.
